Steven Davis
Non-executive Director
Steven has over 35 years’ experience in retail, FMCG and financial services, in the UK and abroad. Over the past 20 years he has held senior executive roles in HR, retail operations and change management. Prior to building a portfolio career, Steven’s final executive role was with Sainsbury’s Bank, where he also sat on the Sainsbury’s Group HR Executive.
Steven is a Non-Executive Director of Peter Vardy, Scottish Ballet, Philip Kingsley and Skipton Group, where he also chairs the Remuneration Committee. He brings a wealth of experience in strategy, change leadership and building strong colleague and customer propositions. He is particularly passionate about creating environments where organisations can realise their full potential through their people.
Steven is from Scotland and enjoys making the best of all that Scotland has to offer both indoors and outdoors. He is as excited to be roaming the Scottish countryside as he is the National Galleries, or indeed, indulging in good local restaurants.
Jamie Livingston
Chair
Jamie is the Chair and Co-Founder of the Livingston James Group. Passionate about the impact of our advice on the lives and performance of our clients and candidates, Jamie is responsible for ensuring the Group’s services and strategy evolve in line with its purpose and values and that it continues to deliver value for the benefit of its key stakeholders.
A graduate of both the University of Glasgow and Toulouse Le Mirail, Jamie spent his early career with a multinational recruitment firm. He co-founded Livingston James Group in January 2010, leading the buyout of co-founder Andy Rogerson in 2019 and the transition to Employee Ownership in January 2023.
Beyond the business world, a former club captain at West of Scotland Rugby Club, Jamie keeps his hand in with the sport vicariously through his son, and in support of the Wooden Spoon Charity where he was Regional Chair for 13 years. He is currently Chair of Columba 1400, a charity that provides transformative values based leadership experiences for young people and the key adults in their lives. At home, he and his wife, Chloe, are active members of their local church and lead community initiatives ‘Project Present’ and ‘Back to School’ when not acting as taxi drivers for their fast growing and ever logistically demanding children.
Craig McDermid
Non-Executive Director
A Chartered Accountant, Craig is an experienced corporate investor with a career in private equity, M&A advisory, banking and family offices. Following a successful exit with Murray Capital in 2015, Craig was keen to build a portfolio of non-executive roles. Passionate about family business and growth orientated companies, he is fortunate and privileged to now work with several such businesses across a range of sectors.
His experience brings Livingston James a unique and extremely valuable perspective on the process of identifying and attracting leadership talent for private equity and family office investors, as well as access to an extensive network of contacts.
Outside of the professional world, Craig has a passion for sailing, is a keen golfer and has developed a love of road cycling during an ongoing midlife crisis!
Craig is also a trustee of Cancer Support Scotland and the Murray Foundation.

Consultant Spotlight – Mark Lewis
Mark joined Livingston James Group as a start up in 2010, initially working for the executive search brand Livingston James, then moving on to set up the senior finance recruitment brand, Rutherford Cross as Managing Director in 2013, before joining the board of Livingston James Group in early 2020.
