Description

Rutherford Cross is working with a global business, with a European head office based in Glasgow city centre to recruit a part-qualified accountant. This is a great opportunity to join a company that has made a series of recent acquisitions and will continue to grow and offer great career prospects as a result.

The business is looking to appoint a hardworking, dedicated and focussed Accountant to partner our forward-thinking business.

Supporting a designated designated business area, the successful individual will be focused on delivering a broad range of duties to improve financial reporting.

The Role:

  • To own the trading P&L and Balance Sheet accounting for one of our trading divisions, ensuring the monthly results are recorded completely, accurately and in line with the reporting deadlines
  • Provide insightful analysis of the P&L and Balance Sheet on a monthly basis for senior management
  • Identify and implement process improvements and enhance reporting to key stakeholders and lead on the integration of acquisitions into the core accounting systems
  • Manage the relationship with the offshore support team to deliver process efficiencies for the accounting function
  • Prepare and provide complex lead schedules for audit purposes, detailed analysis and providing well thought out solutions

Experience and Qualifications required:

  • A University degree and ACCA/CA/CIMA part- qualified with at least 2 years’ experience
  • Strong technical accounting skills are essential. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel is vital
  • Experience working in Financial Services management insurance would be especially useful, as would previous experience of US GAAP
  • Flexible, happy to deal with multiple tasks and environments within our international organisation
  • Highly organised and dedicated with excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills in all formats. Happy to work independently and also perform as part of an effective team.
