Management Accountant

Rutherford Cross have been engaged to recruit a permanent Management Accountant with a public sector client based in the Glasgow area. Reporting to the Head of Finance you will be responsible for:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts including income & expenditure and balance sheet accounts
• Annual budget setting across the organisation
• Monitoring of budgets explaining variances between expenditure and budget
• Regular liaison with budget holders ensuring finances remain within budget
• Production of statutory accounts ensuring compliance with SORP
• Supervision of a small Finance team
• Development of existing software, processes and procedures
• Preparation of the financial plan for the business
• Preparation of VAT Returns

To be successful applicants must be a fully Qualified Accountant and have a background in the public or not-for-profit sector. You will understand the main issues within the public and not for profit sectors especially the drive for efficiencies. You will probably be working currently within either Local Government, Central Government, Education, NHS or a Charitable status organisation looking to make a move into a very interesting sector. Salary from £33,000 to £36,000 per annum. Interview date 10th December 2015.
