Rutherford Cross is delighted to be supporting a leading Glasgow-based business in the search for an Assistant Management Accountant.
This opportunity is ideal for an ambitious finance professional who is looking to take the next step in their career and build towards a future Management Accountant/Finance Business Partner position. Working within a supportive and collaborative finance team, you will gain exposure to core management accounting responsibilities, business partnering and commercial analysis, providing an excellent platform for continued professional development.
You will work closely with senior finance colleagues and operational stakeholders, developing a strong understanding of the business while playing a key role in delivering accurate financial information and insightful reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and performance reporting
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes across operational areas of the business
- Provide financial analysis and meaningful commentary to support decision-making
- Prepare and maintain reporting packs, identifying trends and key cost drivers
- Assist with month-end activities, ensuring reporting is accurate and delivered on time
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and support the maintenance of strong financial controls
- Work with operational teams to improve processes, reporting and financial performance
- Support the development of management information and reporting tools, including Power BI
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and wider finance projects
About You:
We are keen to speak with candidates who are looking to progress their career within management accounting and who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant, Finance Analyst or similar finance role
- Progress towards a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ICAS
- Strong Excel skills and confidence in analysing financial information
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business
- A proactive and inquisitive approach with a desire to learn and develop
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
