Indirect Tax Senior Manager
Location: Aberdeen, Edinburgh or Glasgow

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be supporting a leading professional services firm in the search for an experienced Indirect Tax Senior Manager to join its growing Scottish practice.
This opportunity sits within a highly regarded Indirect Tax team, working with a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from entrepreneurial businesses and fast-growth companies through to large corporates, multinational organisations and public sector bodies. The team advises across a broad range of indirect tax matters, including VAT, customs and international trade issues, delivering both compliance and complex advisory solutions.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative and ambitious team with a strong market reputation, offering excellent scope for progression and the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership on high-profile client engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality indirect tax advisory services across a wide range of VAT and indirect tax matters
- Manage and develop relationships with a portfolio of corporate clients across multiple sectors
- Identify and implement innovative solutions that add value to clients' businesses
- Play an active role in business development activities and support the growth of the practice
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers
- Lead, mentor and develop junior members of the team from both a technical and commercial perspective
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership on complex engagements and strategic initiatives
- Contribute to the continued growth and success of a high-performing indirect tax practice
About You
You will be a motivated and commercially minded indirect tax professional with strong technical VAT expertise and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.
We are particularly interested in candidates who:
- Hold a CTA qualification and/or possess significant relevant indirect tax experience
- Have a strong track record of advising corporate clients on indirect tax matters
- Demonstrate excellent stakeholder management and client relationship skills
- Have experience identifying and developing business opportunities
- Enjoy leading and developing high-performing teams
- Take ownership of their work and operate with a high level of personal accountability
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Communicate effectively with both clients and colleagues
- Thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced professional services environment
