Interim Management Accountant

Interim Management Accountant opportunity with a well-established manufacturing business based in Livingston for 3-4 months. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will play a key role in supporting the month-end process, providing manufacturing performance analysis and partnering closely with operational stakeholders across production, procurement and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the preparation and submission of monthly management accounts
• Prepare month-end journals, stock accounting entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare and maintain sales quality provisions
• Review and report on manufacturing variances, providing insight to production management
• Prepare monthly purchase variance analysis and reporting for procurement stakeholders
• Support the costing and ongoing review to ensure manufacturing costs are accurately reflected
• Assist with the preparation and monitoring of capital expenditure proposals and cashflow forecasting
• Support the year-end statutory audit process and liaise with external auditors as required
• Partner with operational teams across the business to provide financial insight and support decision-making

Candidate Profile:

• Qualified accountant
• Previous management accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of standard costing and manufacturing variance analysis
• Experience presenting financial information to operational and non-finance stakeholders
• Strong ERP systems knowledge and experience working with large datasets
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across multiple functions
• Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving capabilities
