Position: Interim Divisional Financial Controller
Duration: 3-6 months, potential to go permanent
Location: Glasgow

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a high-growth, private equity-backed business in Glasgow with the appointment of a Divisional Financial Controller. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business at an exciting stage of its growth journey, initially on a 3-6 month basis, with strong potential for the role to become permanent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end divisional month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Take ownership of divisional P&L and balance sheet integrity, including review, challenge, and sign-off
- Review trial balances against prior periods and budgets, identifying required adjustments and areas of concern
- Oversee revenue recognition, WIP accounting, accruals, provisions and other key accounting judgements
- Prepare and deliver high-quality divisional reporting packs, ensuring adherence to group reporting deadlines
- Provide robust financial commentary and analysis on actual performance, accounting movements and run-rate trends
- Act as the primary escalation point for divisional accounting and policy matters
- Build strong relationships with central finance teams and Group Finance to ensure an efficient and controlled close process
- Drive continuous improvement across financial reporting, controls, automation and process efficiency
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified or ‘Qualified by Experience’ finance professional
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and quickly establish credibility
- Good systems knowledge and experience driving automation, reporting enhancements and process improvements
- Available at short notice
