Rutherford Cross is working with a leading property management group to appoint a Management Accountant. The role will be primarily home-based, with the option to use Glasgow-based offices as and when required. The role would suit a newly or recently qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/CA or equivalent), ideally with industry experience.
The purpose of the role is to provide an excellent service to customers across all areas of finance support including but not limited to decision support, management reporting, preparation of budgets and forecasts, and external statutory
reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Group Finance Manager and/or Finance Manager, as well as the Finance Officers to ensure accurate and timely reporting of information and a smooth budgeting process.
On offer is a salary of up to £43k (depending on experience) and an excellent benefits package including, holidays, 9% employer contribution pension, work from home, gym and healthcare allowances.
Key Responsibilities:- Responsibility for the accuracy of the financial ledgers and processing the appropriate month-end adjustments
- Preparation of full Board reports with commentary
- Preparation of internal management reporting packs on a monthly basis
- Support the preparation of quarterly forecasts of income and expenditure, balance sheet and cash flow for submission to the Board;
- Liaise with manager’s/budget holders as required to update on financial performance
- Liaise with other finance colleagues to ensure accurate reporting across subsidiaries of intercompany transactions
- Prepare analysis on the following on a monthly basis for submission to the ET; Core Investment Programme, Repairs and maintenance costs, New Build Programme
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations on a timely basis.
- Preparation and/or review of budgets
- Liaising with budget holders with respect to budget requirements.
- Review and posting of the repairs and capital budgets as provided by the asset team
- Lead the process to reconcile the ledger upload to the Board approved budgets
- Review of the weekly BACS run
Support the Senior Group Finance Manager and/or Finance Manager with the preparation of the year-end statutory accounts to reconcile the ledger upload to the Board approved budgets
The Ideal Candidate:
- Fully Qualified (ACCA/CA/CIMA or equivalent), part-qualified and/or degree in Accounting
- Track record of financial analysis
- Ability to interpret and collate different sources of data
- Analytical and detail-oriented
- Ability to organise workloads to achieve priorities and objectives and work to strict deadlines
- Strong knowledge of Excel
- Strong report writing skills
- High-level interpersonal and influencing skills
- Excellent communicator with internal and external audiences
- Flexible, adaptable and able to work under pressure
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in a finance-related environment
- Experience of management reporting and budget planning process
