Rutherford Cross is working with an exciting Private Equity firm to recruit an Interim System Accountant for a short-term contract based in Edinburgh, with offices in the city centre. The candidate must be a committed, ambitious and highly motivated professional looking for an opportunity to make an impact on a highly visible project. You will be excited to work as part of an experienced, high-calibre project remediation team.

You will be responsible for the reconciliation of key control accounts within a finance system implementation, together with identifying where breakages in process contribute to reconciliation differences. While conceptually straightforward, legacy processing challenges within the source operational system require investigation and system understanding.

Main Duties:

• Deliver reconciliations of key control accounts between our operational and finance systems
• Identify remedial actions to mitigate the impact of future breakages in process
• Understand the mechanics of the interface between the two systems
• Provide clear updates as to progress and challenges faced

Skills and Experience:

• Deep understanding of reconciliation approach and processes
• Deep working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Experience of Microsoft Business Central and using SQL queries
• System and process implementation
• Operational finance function
