Description
Interim Head of Finance (mainly remote) job with our public sector client based in the West of Scotland for a 12-month period.
Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for:
- Leading, managing and developing a sizeable finance team with responsibility for, including but not limited to, statutory reporting, management accounting, payroll, tax, revenues and payables
- Supporting the CFO in the annual budget setting process
- Leading the ongoing budgetary monitoring, forecasting, variance analysis and liaison with departmental managers
- Monitoring and reporting on the overall financial position of the organisation
- Supporting the CFO with strategic planning for the organisation in order to provide ongoing improvement and development of operational outputs
- Leading and developing medium and long-term financial planning
- Leading the production of statutory accounts and liaison with external auditors
- Managing the treasury function including cash flow management and supporting investment decision-making
- Managing the Internal Audit and Counter Fraud function
- Providing financial advice and reports to Chief Executive, Senior Leadership Team and Management
- Ensuring the finance department offers effective customer service to both internal and external key stakeholders and customers
- Promoting change and innovation to support continuous improvement within the organisation
To apply, it is essential that you are a qualified accountant with a previous background in the public sector. You will be experienced in leading the annual statutory accounts process and liaising with external auditors. You will also be comfortable and have a track record of leading very large teams. This role covers maternity for a 12-month period and will commence at the start of October 2024.
Salary: circa £90,000 p.a. plus benefits or day rate equivalent.
