Salary up to £55K

 

Our client is a high-end consumer goods brand based in the Scottish Borders who are looking to recruit a Head of Finance.

 

Reporting to the Managing Director and as part of the Senior Management team, the position is responsible for planning, directing and controlling the financial, legal and administrative functions of the business.

 

The main duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Overall responsibility for company’s accounting and administrative department and functions
  • Responsible for company’s legal affairs and functions.
  • Responsible for financial planning and related ongoing advice to the Managing Director and Senior Management team
  • Formulating financial targets and budgets in accordance with the directorate’s strategies
  • Review reports and analyse projections of sales, income and overheads against actual figures and suggest methods of improving the situation where necessary
  • Responsible for meeting all financial reporting deadlines be they monthly, quarterly or annually
  • Control of all financial activities including financial transactions, accountancy matters and audit processes
  • Manage all corporate finance accountabilities including company policies, capital requirement, debt, taxation, equity and acquisitions when appropriate
  • Provide timely and accurate financial information on all company activities to the parent company when requested to do so
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met regarding all the company’s financial affairs (HMRC, etc.)
  • Responsible the management and control of the company’s cash flow processes and policies
  • Responsible for carrying out monthly and quarterly reviews with department heads identifying opportunities and threats and reporting outcomes from the reviews to the Managing Director and Senior Management Team

 

Senior Management team involvement:

  • Provide sound financial advice/help to department heads when requested to do so by them giving a balanced commercial view
  • Meet with the directors and senior managers on a regular basis to keep them informed and to offer direction
  • Key contributor to the short, medium and long term financial trends and strategies and review prospects for future growth of income and new product areas
  • Management and development of staff

 

To be considered for this position you must have the following attributes:

  • Qualified CA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Effective communicator - Written and verbal
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with people on all levels
  • Well organised, motivated and enthusiastic individual
  • Excellent Analytical skills
  • A wider/commercial business knowledge
