Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be partnered with a global premium drinks business to appoint a Financial Analyst to their commercial finance team based in Lanarkshire. Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, you will contribute to key financial analyses and provide decision support and commercial forecasting to drive product performance.

Purpose of Role:

As a Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in providing financial analysis and decision support to the Commercial team. You will be responsible for monthly performance evaluation, cost centre management, capital expenditure analysis and contributing to the annual budgeting process. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make a significant impact within a dynamic and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monthly analysis of expenditure vs budget, comparing to previous periods
  • Provide variance analysis with detailed commentary, highlighting trends
  • Develop reporting tools, performance packs and analytics to support decision-making
  • Play a key part in the annual budgeting process, supporting cost centre spend, capital expenditure and headcount
  • Conduct pre and post Return on Investment (ROI) evaluation for capital expenditures
  • Work collaboratively with the operational finance team to ensure accurate month-end accruals / prepayments
  • Continuously seek improvements in ways of working, including recommending key financial and non-financial internal controls

Personal Profile:

  • Solid commercial awareness and an accurate, logical, and concise approach to work
  • Strong ability to communicate financial information to non-financial colleagues
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proven experience in problem-solving and addressing issues with solutions
  • Ability to present to senior leaders and effectively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Part-qualified accountant ACCA / CIMA or qualified by experience
  • Essential experience in a manufacturing company
  • Advantageous experience in the drinks industry
  • SAP experience advantageous
  • Strong IT and system skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Power BI would be beneficial.
