Description
Rutherford Cross are working on behalf of a fast growing Scottish company to identify a high calibre Finance Director with the capacity to drive the business forward as part of the senior leadership team. This is a service led company with a strong ethos of delivering well beyond customer expectations, an approach which has underpinned the company’s recent rapid growth. There are exciting plans in place that should see the business transformed in terms of growth and turnover, but this cannot be achieved without a strong and passionate leadership team in place.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Control and leadership of the company’s accounting function
- Responsibility for company cashflow, working capital, management accounts preparation, business partnering
- Leading from a finance perspective on fundraising and due diligence
- Manage stakeholder and funder relationships
- Working with funders regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity
- Formulate financial targets and budgets in accordance with the strategy determined by the board
- Advise on company strategy with a particular focus on improving profitability of new and existing revenue lines
- Overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters, including audit systems and ownership of cost control
- Have ultimate ownership of credit control and the financial relationship with the company’s key suppliers and debtors
- Manage invoice finance processes and relationships
- Prepare annual accounts in collaboration with the company’s external accountants
Candidate Requirements:
- Displays hunger and drive, and takes ownership and accountability for the business as part of senior leadership team
- Excellent negotiator and influencer particularly in high pressure situations
- Strong leader with an ability to lead and motivate a team
- Demonstrate leadership and vision in managing staff and projects or initiatives
- Excellent people manager, with excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative work style and a commitment to getting the job done
