Position: Executive Assistant to CFO
Location: Glasgow / UK (hybrid / flexible)

The Opportunity:
Rutherford Cross is delighted to be partnering exclusively with a Scottish-headquartered multinational plc to recruit an Executive Assistant to the CFO. This business-critical role offers the opportunity to support a senior executive within a global organisation, managing complex priorities, engaging with board-level stakeholders, and acting as a trusted partner to the CFO.
Key Responsibilities:
Executive Support & Prioritisation
- Act as a trusted partner to the CFO, managing a complex and demanding international diary
- Anticipate requirements and proactively coordinate meetings, briefings, and communications
- Ensure the CFO remains focused on strategic priorities through effective planning and organisation
- Provide high-quality administrative and executive support in a fast-paced environment
Board & Governance Coordination
- Support board and committee engagement activities
- Coordinate agendas, board papers, presentations, and meeting materials
- Track actions, deadlines, and key deliverables to ensure effective governance processes
- Assist with preparing documentation for executive and board-level meetings
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, board members, investors, and external partners
- Act as a key point of contact on behalf of the CFO
- Manage communications professionally and efficiently across global teams
Executive Office Coordination
- Coordinate activities and priorities across multiple senior stakeholders
- Support the delivery of strategic projects and key business initiatives
- Maintain visibility of changing priorities and ensure effective communication across leadership teams
Travel & Operations
- Arrange complex international travel, accommodation, and logistics
- Manage expenses, purchase orders, and administration in line with company policies
- Provide additional support to wider executive teams where required
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve Executive Office processes and ways of working
- Utilise digital tools and emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and collaboration
- Contribute to best practice across the wider Executive Assistant community
Confidentiality & Professionalism:
- Handle highly confidential financial, commercial, and strategic information with discretion
- Exercise sound judgement and maintain professionalism in a demanding environment
- Demonstrate resilience and adaptability when managing changing priorities
Candidate Profile:
- Significant experience supporting C-suite executives within a plc or large, complex international organisation
- Demonstrates exceptional professionalism, discretion, and emotional intelligence
- Proven experience supporting board-level governance activities
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage at senior executive level
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools
