Rutherford Cross is delighted to partner with a growing, family-owned business to appoint a Credit Controller. The position is based at the company's brand-new HQ in central Glasgow; however, the company has a national footprint. The business has grown significantly in the last few years, and this position is a brand-new opportunity as the continued growth requires further support from its high-performing finance function.

This role has been newly created due to the company's growth and will allow the successful candidate to make the role their own.

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

• Monitoring policies and procedures that will help the company meet its risk management goals
• Monitoring and evaluating active accounts to reduce or prevent bad debt losses
• Reviewing credit limits and credit limit excesses
• Contacting high-risk customers and agree an action plan to reduce the risk
• Involved in recommending provisions for bad debts
• Building a financial model that predicts credit risk
• Providing statistics / reporting to confirm Credit Policy is working well in line with the current economy
• Preparing monthly performance and risk reports

Experience:

• Strong communication skills
• Previous experience in debt collection/credit control
