Rutherford Cross is delighted to be exclusively partnered with a well-known FMCG business to appoint a Commercial Finance Analyst. This is a newly created role offering high visibility and genuine commercial impact within a fast-paced, well-invested environment.

The position would be an ideal first move into industry for a newly or recently qualified accountant (CA/ACCA) coming from a Top 10 firm, particularly those with a background in audit or accounts preparation and looking to step into a business-facing, commercially focused role.

You'll be part of a high-performing finance team, providing performance insight across key areas of the business, supporting decision-making, and influencing profitability. It's a role with breadth, variety, and exposure—perfect for someone ready to move beyond reporting into adding real business value.

The Role:

• Full ownership of monthly reporting and close activity across specific areas of the business
• In-depth analysis of variances vs Budget, Forecast and Prior Year, with clear insight to drive action
• Working closely with operational and commercial teams to challenge and support decisions
• Preparing and presenting financial forecasts with clear, narrative-driven output
• Supporting the annual budget cycle and ongoing reforecasting
• Identifying and delivering improvements across reporting, processes and systems
• Playing a key role in ensuring robust controls and balance sheet integrity

The Person:

• Newly/recently qualified accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA), ideally big / mid-tier, although we will also consider industry qualified
• Commercial mindset with a desire to partner the business, not just report on it
• Confident communicator who can present clearly to non-finance teams
• Curious, analytical, and process-driven—keen to improve how things are done
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment
