Rutherford Cross is working on behalf of a fast growing Scottish company to identify a high calibre Internal Controls Specialist to undertake an in-depth review of their internal controls framework. This is an anticipated to be a minimum 6-month interim assignment and will be based at its Edinburgh headquarters.
The company is going through a period of rapid growth with revenues increasing 20% year-on-year. In response the leaders of the business are keen to ensure that effective controls and procedures are in place in order to minimise risk and to build a robust platform for further growth. Internal controls will be the responsibility of individual business owners as the company is keen to ensure that the internal audit function is fully focussed on value add and improving operations through objective assurance and consultation.
Specifically this will include:
- Working closely with business areas to document their processes and procedures, identifying areas of best practice and concern
- Identifying key risks and weaknesses, presenting these findings to senior management
- Establishing a robust system of risk management and internal control
