Rutherford Cross is delighted to be supporting its key client on this urgent Interim hire for a period of 3-months based in Glasgow City Centre.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Interim Financial Accountant to support a range of financial activities across newly created and recently acquired entities. This role is pivotal in ensuring robust financial controls, accurate month-end reporting and compliance with tax and revenue recognition standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Month-End & Reporting Support

• Enhance and streamline the month-end close process for newly created entities
• Prepare and review journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Conduct analytical reviews of P&L and balance sheet items
• Liaise with external BPO teams to support ledger-related tasks

Financial Controls & Compliance

• Provide hands-on support for Financial Controls compliance across two recently acquired companies
• Ensure adherence to internal control frameworks and assist with remediation activities where needed

Revenue Recognition

• Support the revenue recognition process for key projects closing within the year
• Collaborate with project teams and finance stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely recognition

Tax & Ad Hoc Queries

• Respond to tax-related queries and provide support on ad hoc tax matters
• Work closely with internal tax teams and external advisors as required

Skills & Experience Required:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly around month-end close and revenue recognition
• Experience working with newly created or acquired entities is highly desirable
