Description

Role: Interim Statutory Accountant

Duration: 3–6 months

Salary: Circa £60,000 per annum (pro rata)

Location: On-site

Overview:

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Statutory Accounting Manager to join an established organisation for a 3–6-month assignment. This role is pivotal in ensuring statutory compliance, providing leadership across finance-related functions, and driving process improvements within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and provide support for the preparation of statutory accounts
  • Liaise with external auditors, co-ordinating the audit process and ensuring timely sign-off
  • Oversee and prepare board reporting, delivering accurate and insightful updates.
  • Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting
  • Manage the insurance renewal process, ensuring all policies are in place and compliant
  • Provide leadership and support to the Accounting, Procurement, and IT teams
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
  • Collaborate across the business on finance-related projects, identifying and driving process improvements

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, or CIMA) or Qualified by Experience
  • Strong technical accounting skills with a thorough understanding of statutory requirements
  • Audit experience, either in practice or industry
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a primarily on-site environment
  • Strong knowledge of corporate legal matters

The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, detail-oriented, and confident in managing complex statutory accounting and audit processes. They will bring a collaborative and proactive approach, capable of identifying and implementing improvements while providing leadership to a multidisciplinary team.
