Description

Rutherford Cross is working with a well-respected Public Sector organisation to recruit a Senior Financial Analyst. The organisation is based in Glasgow, with offices in the city centre. This is a newly created role and will play a pivotal part in the development and provision of central FP&A activities, working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or ‘Qualified by Experience’ Accountant to really shape an exciting and varied role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project work within the Finance team as requested by the Director of Finance, Deputy Director of Finance and Head of Management Accounts
  • Lead strategic business partners working across the organisation, providing analytics that deliver actionable insight to help improve organisational decisions
  • Develop and maintain financial models to assist in target-setting processes and support budgeting, forecasting and scenario-planning activities
  • Consolidate, review and challenge the monthly results and forecasts and prepare the monthly reporting pack for review with the Finance Office Directorate
  • Continually review and identify opportunities for enhancing the information provision whilst improving the efficiency and automation of the report preparation
  • Service ad-hoc financial queries and requests for information, from both internal and external sources

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Fully qualified Accountant (ICAS / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) or ‘Qualified by Experience’, with up-to-date knowledge of policy & procedures
  • Knowledge / experience of financial & management accounting procedures
  • Knowledge / experience of Financial Planning and Analysis activities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business processes
  • Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft packages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of PowerBi (advantageous)
