Rutherford Cross is partnering exclusively with this renowned Glasgow FTSE 250 PLC to recruit a high performing individual into the role of Insurance, Risk & Controls Assistant.
In this newly created position the role holder will support the Insurance, Risk & Controls Manager in the implementation and maintenance of the Group’s Global & Country specific insurance programmes. This is an excellent, rarely available opportunity to progress your insurance career in a corporate headquarters environment in Scotland.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Delivery of direction and guidance to the Group’s operating companies on all insurance related matters
- Continual review of the Group’s risk profile to ensure that the insurance programmes are fit for purpose
- Deploying risk mitigation processes across the Group eg property loss control programme, contractual risk reviews, insurable risk reviews
- Responsibility for the claims process globally and driving improvements
- Development and roll out of new risk initiatives involving participation of the Group self-insurance vehicle (Captive)
- Management of our global external relationships with service providers including brokers, insurers, claims handlers, Captive manager and loss adjusters
- Supporting the annual global underwriting process and market risk submissions
- Contract/Insurance risk reviews
- Support and development of new risk initiatives involving the Captive
- Active involvement in the management of the Group legacy disease claims in conjunction with broker / TPA support
- Development of a Global policy digest
- Ownership of the Global risk / premium allocation process
Experience and qualifications required:
- Degree or professional qualification
- Extensive knowledge of the insurance industry
- Good technical knowledge in relation to all aspects of insurance and associated insurance regulation
- Good understanding of contractual and legal principles
- Approachable, self-starter who takes pride in their work and has a diligent work ethic
- Strong commercial focus with the ability to balance the potentially conflicting needs of the Group
