Rutherford Cross is delighted to be retained by OV Group to appoint a Finance Manager and Assistant Accountant.
OV Group, part of the Orkla Food Ingredients division, is a leading manufacturer of cake decorations supplying all major UK retailers. Since its acquisition in 2021 by Orkla, the business has benefited from significant investment in systems, digitalisation, and operational capability, positioning it strongly for future growth.
The Cumbernauld site is a key manufacturing hub within the group, employing approximately 130 people and generating around £30m in revenue. It operates in a fast-paced, customer-driven retail environment, manufacturing high-volume product lines while maintaining a strong focus on quality, innovation, and service delivery.
The business has a clear and ambitious growth strategy, with plans to scale over the coming years through a combination of organic growth, new product development, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is supported by ongoing investment in technology, including D365, Power BI, and broader digital transformation programmes, ensuring the business is well-positioned to leverage data, automation, and AI as part of its evolution.
As part of a large international group, the site also benefits from strong central support and collaboration across the wider Orkla network, while retaining a close-knit, agile, and entrepreneurial culture locally. This creates an environment where individuals can make a tangible impact and play a key role in shaping the next phase of growth.
Finance Manager
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a high-visibility role focused on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while providing meaningful analysis to support decision-making. Acting as a key finance partner to the business, you will review the P&L, own balance sheet oversight, support board reporting, and liaise with the wider Orkla group. With exposure to senior stakeholders and ongoing project work, this role offers a clear pathway to becoming a Financial Controller or Head of Finance for an ambitious individual.

Assistant Accountant
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a developing finance professional to gain broad experience across transactional finance, month-end processes and reporting within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Supporting the wider finance function, you will be involved in reconciliations, accruals, intercompany, and management accounts, while working closely with stakeholders across the business. With study support, strong systems exposure, including D365 and Power BI, this is an ideal role for someone looking to build their skillset and progress their career.
