Rutherford Cross is delighted to be retained by Scotmid to bring in an Assistant Financial Accountant.
Scottish Midland Co-operative Society Ltd, known as Scotmid, is Scotland’s largest independent co-operative, employing around 3,000 people across Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the North of England. Established in 1859 with the opening of the first St Cuthberts store, Scotmid now operates approximately 180 food convenience stores across Scotland and over 60 Semichem stores on High Streets throughout Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the North of England.
Scotmid Co-operative Funeral Directors have a nearly 100-year history and operate 17 branches throughout the central belt of Scotland. Additionally, Scotmid’s Property Division manages an extensive commercial and residential portfolio.
As an independent retail society, Scotmid is distinct from the Manchester-based Co-operative Group, which also operates food convenience stores across the UK, including Scotland. Despite this distinction, both organizations are part of the Co-operative Movement and have trading ties concerning food purchases.
