Rutherford Cross is delighted to partner with Peoples Postcode Lottery to appoint an Interim Management Accountant and Finance Business Partner.
The People’s Postcode Lottery is a subscription-based charity lottery in the United Kingdom where players enter using their postcode. A portion of the ticket price goes to support a wide range of charities and community projects across the country. Prizes are awarded based on postcodes drawn at random, meaning neighbours who play together can win together. Since its launch in 2005, the lottery has raised billions of pounds for good causes while giving players the chance to win cash prizes every day.
This interim role, on a 15-month period, reports directly to the Financial Controller and will take overall responsibility for the general ledger and the production of management and statutory accounts. The postholder will be a commercially minded accountant who is IT-literate and enjoys working with non-finance departments to drive accurate and useful management information.
As a fast-growing business, the department and this role in particular, are at the forefront of developing operational processes to position People’s Postcode Lottery for the future. The individual will fulfil a business partnering role specifically for the organisations’ marketing, loyalty and retention, creative and insights departments, providing financial support and guidance with future spend and projects. The role will also focus on the development of the strategic progression of the People’s Postcode Lottery’s Prizes in Kind offering, working closely with the procurement team and external fulfilment providers.
