October 30th marked our latest Future Finance Leaders event in partnership with RSM. Hosted at Johnstons of Elgin, the evening featured a detailed Q&A session from their very own Finance Director, Johanna Wallace.
The Future Finance Leaders event series aims to bring together individuals in the senior finance network who are on their journey to leadership. Primarily aimed at ambitious qualified accountants across all sectors and industries who are 3+ years PQE.
The evening kicked off with a welcome drink, canapés and an opportunity for networking before Stuart McCallum, Partner at RSM, took on the “interrogation” duties of Johanna’s career and delved into her journey to present day.
Johanna has a breadth of experience across different sectors, regularly travelling the country to take on different opportunities as she scaled the ladder of senior finance appointments. Her career stories inspired the audience to seize opportunities, stay curious and immerse themselves in understanding the commercial realities and ambitions of the organisations they work with. All of these have been the making of Finance Director DNA for Johanna.
The evening concluded with further opportunities for conversation, reflection on the Q&A session and the chance to grow connections. Guests enjoyed a final refreshment and browsed the latest lines in store before departing with their own pair of JoE socks.
The Future Finance Leaders event series remains a strong and permanent fixture of the calendar. We would like to encourage anyone to reach out to be included in the series whether it be as an attendee or speaker in future editions.
A sincere thank you is extended to the fantastic team at Johnstons of Elgin for their incredible service, to Johanna Wallace for her time and insights into her career and to RSM for their continued partnership in this series.
