Rutherford Cross recently hosted its fourth Corporate Tennis Event at The Grange Sports Club in Edinburgh, led by Leon Smith, GB Davis Cup Captain and Head of Men’s Tennis at the LTA.
We were delighted to welcome a number of CFOs and senior finance leaders from across Scotland’s Central Belt and Aberdeen for an afternoon of tennis, networking and insight. Leon put attendees through their paces with a series of drills and practice sessions, sharing tips and advice fresh from GB’s recent Davis Cup success over Ecuador.
The competitive spirit continued with a fun round-robin doubles tournament, which was won by Will Lyburn, Financial Controller at Buccleuch Property, and Paul McGettrick, CFO. Congratulations also to Calum Wright, FBP at Seafish, who recorded the fastest serve of the day.
Following the tennis, guests enjoyed dinner in The Grange Clubhouse, where Leon hosted an engaging Q&A session, sharing his experiences of leading Team GB on the international stage.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended, as well as to Leon Smith and The Grange Club for helping make the event such a success. We wish Leon and Team GB every success in their upcoming Davis Cup Finals quarter-final against Germany in Bologna, Italy.
