Rutherford Cross Annual Charity Football Tournament 2025

On Friday, 20th June, we hosted our annual charity football tournament at Powerleague Glasgow. This informal yet competitive event brings together professionals from the finance community across the West of Scotland to raise funds in support of a vital cause. This year, we supported Who Cares? Scotland, a charity dedicated to promoting a lifetime of equality, respect, and love for care-experienced people. Central to their mission is the belief in the rights of care-experienced individuals and the power of their voices to drive meaningful change.

Blessed with sunshine, we were delighted to welcome back several returning teams and introduce a number of new participants. Following a series of hard-fought matches through the group stages and quarter-finals, the semi-finalists emerged: Azets, City FM, Barclays, and Santander. Ultimately, defending champions Azets, who defeated Rutherford Cross in the quarter-finals, retained their title with a win over Santander in the final.

We extend our sincere thanks to all who participated and contributed generously, with special recognition going to GAP Group and City FM for their significant donations. Thanks to everyone’s support, we raised £4,000 for Who Cares? Scotland and helped raise awareness of the impactful work they do.

Other participating teams included Loganair, The Denholm Group, Alvarez & Marsal, Whyte & Mackay, Loch Lomond Group, March, Gallagher, John G Russell, and Maven.

Our appreciation also goes to the team at Powerleague for their excellent support throughout the day, and to Matthew McGoldrick (photographer) and Gabriel Reynolds (videographer) for capturing the event so brilliantly.

Please enjoy the short video below, which captures the spirit of the occasion.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back next year as we continue to support great causes through sport and community engagement. For more information on the tournmanent, please contact Jonathan Donnelly at [email protected]
