Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to partner again with Neogen as the business continues to strengthen its international finance and taxation capability. Following ongoing global growth across its food safety and animal health divisions, Neogen is now seeking to appoint a Tax Manager EMEA & APAC to support an expanding regional footprint and evolving global tax requirements.

About Neogen

Neogen is a global leader in food safety, animal health and biosecurity solutions. With operations in more than 140 countries, Neogen provides products and services that enable customers to protect the global food chain and promote animal wellbeing. The organisation continues to grow rapidly across EMEA and APAC, offering significant career development opportunities within a collaborative, mission‑led culture.

Operating at the forefront of food and animal safety innovation, Neogen provides critical solutions to protect the world’s food supply “from farm gate to dinner plate.” With continued investment across EMEA and APAC, the organisation is placing enhanced focus on governance, compliance, and tax efficiency across more than 20 legal entities.

The Opportunity

The Tax Manager EMEA & APAC will play a pivotal role in leading Neogen’s regional tax compliance, reporting, and advisory activities. This highly visible position will partner with senior stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Shared Services to ensure robust tax governance across multiple jurisdictions. This position offers a rare opportunity to take ownership of a wide remit of international tax responsibilities, supporting a globally recognised brand with a growing EMEA operational footprint.

Key Responsibilities:

The appointed individual will:

  • Lead and coordinate external advisors in the preparation and review of corporate tax returns and year‑end tax provisions across EMEA and APAC
  • Oversee all VAT/indirect tax, corporate tax compliance, and statutory reporting, ensuring timely, accurate submissions across multiple jurisdictions
  • Support transfer pricing, including intercompany monitoring, TP documentation, and the implementation of global policies
  • Manage Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) and support the rollout of Neogen’s compliance framework relating to OECD Pillar 2 requirements
  • Respond to enquiries, reviews, and audits from tax authorities, providing well-evidenced responses and supporting risk management
  • Partner with internal functions to ensure practical, commercially aligned tax advice on day‑to‑day activities
  • Strengthen systems, controls, reconciliations, and data integrity across all direct and indirect tax processes

The Ideal Candidate:

Neogen is seeking an experienced tax professional (CTA / ACCA / ACA) with a strong grounding in multinational tax compliance, ideally gained within global industry or professional services.

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Strong technical experience in corporate tax, VAT/indirect tax, and international tax compliance
  • Exposure to transfer pricing, TP documentation, and intercompany policy
  • Experience with CbCR reporting and, ideally, Pillar 2 considerations
  • Strong analytical capability, financial systems literacy (e.g., SAP, Sage), and the ability to manage multiple entities across diverse regulatory environments
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across regions and non‑specialist stakeholders

This role is suited to a proactive, detail‑driven tax professional eager to take ownership of a broad, international remit within a purpose-led organisation.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced Company sick pay
  • Enhanced Maternity & Paternity
  • Private Medical cover
  • Cycle2Work scheme
  • Free car parking at all sites
