Description
Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a prestigious, Glasgow based organisation to recruit a Senior Project Accountant. The post-holder will work closely with the project management team to play a leading role in the financial management of a redevelopment programme with a budget of circa £450m. This high profile position will have a significant impact on the delivery of a major investment which is pivotal to the organisation's strategic objectives.
It is imperative that the successful candidate has experience of building positive working relationships with project managers and has the ability to challenge budget holders. Prior exposure to working in a construction related environment is highly desirable, as is an understanding of NEC project management principles.
Key duties include:
- Supporting project managers by providing reliable financial advice, guidance and challenging assumptions when appropriate
- Lead by example, demonstrating a pro-active approach to process improvement, taking on ownership and accountability
- Deliver management information for strategic and operational purposes, to allow for strategic financial planning, financial governance and budgeting and forecasting
- Work with Heads of Finance, Estates & Commercial Services to oversee capital projects, alerting of any change against planned budget, preparing analysis and reports on revenue/capital cash-flow planning
