Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a leading charitable organisation to appoint a Senior Finance Manager. The purpose of this role will be to manage financial and capital resources to sustain the investment in the organisation’s charitable objectives. On offer is a salary of £42,500 along with an excellent 36 days’ holiday, pension, and flexible working model. The post-holder can work remotely but must be able to make meetings in the head offices based in Glasgow as and when required.

Direct Supervisor: Head of Finance
Number of Direct reports: 3 (team leaders)

Responsibilities:

  • External reporting including the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and management of external audit for the organisation and subsidiary companies to ensure compliance with legislation including FRS102
  • Lead on the Audit Committee agenda, including management of internal audit work, preparation of financial reports, and attendance at Committee meetings to facilitate good governance
  • Ensure the integrity of the organisation’s transactional services
  • Lead on income completeness ensuring all revenue streams are correctly recognised and billed
  • Support on the finances of new business tenders as required
  • Signatory for bank accounts, purchase orders, BACS payment runs and payroll to ensure payments are made timeously
  • Review and update financial policies and procedures to maintain financial control
  • Contribute to systems development as and when required
  • Carry out annual appraisals and supervisions for direct reports to provide support and monitor performance
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required

The Ideal Individual:

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA / ICAS / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Good knowledge of charity reporting, including SOFA preparation
  • Experience preparing budgets, cash flow, and tenders for a complex organisation
  • Proficient with Advanced Excel
  • Experience report writing
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ideally, experience reporting to Boards or Committee
  • Ideally, experience of people management
