This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced auditor to join a leading life business based in Edinburgh, this vacancy is due to an internal promotion. Reporting to the Audit Manager you will provide expert assurance opinions on the internal control framework and risk management to support higher quality governance decisions throughout the business.

Day to day you will be responsible for:

Planning and managing designated audits and reviews including regulatory, financial, operational, business systems and processes.

Identify practical remedial actions with management, agree action plans and produce high quality draft reports.

Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the business.

Provide advice on controls and risk management and other consultancy services as required by the business and management. Including participation in business-led risk management workshops.

Supervise and coach junior members of staff.

Keep up to date with key internal audit updates and best practice

Champion the audit methodology

To be considered for this role you will maintain a relevant professional qualification either CA/ACA/ACCA/IIA/CIA/CISA or similar and will have experience gained working in a similar role within financial services.

Ideally you will have some knowledge or exposure to Solvency II/actuarial experience although this is not essential.

Alternatively, you may have gained your experience working within the 2nd line of defence and looking to transition into audit.

You will need a proactive, can-do attitude is important coupled with strong communication skills both verbal and written. You will be commercially astute and will enjoy problem solving.

Experience within another life business is highly desirable but not essential.

This organisation has gone through a significant amount of change and as a direct result there is a lot of scope to progress quickly within the business, either directly in the internal audit team or the wider business.

Salary: £40-52,000 + benefits
