Description

Process Consultant £300-325 a day Edinburgh (6 months)

Rutherford Cross is seeking a Process Consultant who is ideally a Six Sigma Green Belt with excellent analytical skills. You will have a track record of using a variety of diagnostic techniques to understand a situation/issue/problem by breaking them down and tracing the root cause/underlying implications in a methodical step-by-step way.

You will be responsible for working with business units to identify and analyse business processes and workflows, with a view to understanding current state and implementing improvements. Key to the role is the ability to ask the right questions and not get embroiled in the detail with a good consultative approach. This particular role is within a key Finance projects to deliver more frequent and faster 3 external reporting requirements. This programme will deliver Finance Readiness. The work stream will enhance the existing system solution to reflect the final external regulatory requirements. Key to delivering Finance readiness (speed, sustainability and control) are excellent well documented, efficient and controlled processes and are understood by all involved.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicating, presenting, negotiating and influencing across the business
  • Identifying key stakeholders across the business to ensure a network of contacts when working on multi-channel projects
  • Managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Being able to build rapport and credibility across the organization in order to promote ideas and proposals
  • Support the identification and evaluation of improvement opportunities to support the process management transformation objectives
  • Operate across Finance to drive, facilitate and implement end to end process change
  • Produce process maps for current and future state process which are regularly reviewed and maintained.
  • Make strong recommendations to Process Owner on process optimisation opportunities and implementation plans.
  • Coach individuals and business areas, spreading knowledge and awareness and creating process experts throughout Finance

You will demonstrate:

  • Communication Skills - Clearly and effectively communicates information, ideas, plans, requests and opinions to internal and external stakeholders through a range of channels including written and oral. Ensures alignment with communication guidelines and policies
  • Continuous Improvement - Applies a systematic approach to help optimise business activities and processes to support the strategic objectives of the organisation. Includes significant process transformation activities as part of continuous change programmes.
  • Facilitation Skills - Applies a range of facilitation approaches and engagement techniques with groups to enable the discussion, broaden participation, support individuals to make their point and manage differing opinions.
  • Planning and Organising - Organises, prioritises and, where applicable, delegates work activities to efficiently accomplish tasks and meet objectives.  Includes the principles of time management and multi-tasking
  • Project / Programme Management - Plans, initiates, executes, controls and closes projects /programmes /portfolios of work in a disciplined manner. Tracks and manages resources, timelines, costs, deliverables and performance.
  • Stakeholder Management - Interprets and influences both the external and internal environments by creating positive relationships with stakeholders through the appropriate management of their expectations and agreed objectives.
