Payroll Manager

Rutherford Cross is working with an established national business to recruit a Payroll Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join a highly successful Scottish business and manage a medium sized, interesting payroll.

Ideally, this role will suit a candidate with proven high-volume payroll experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. On offer is a salary of up to £45k, a hybrid and flexible working model based in Lanarkshire and other generous employee benefits.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Lead and develop a small payroll team
• Collaborate with the People team to build effective working relationships
• Ensure monthly payroll is processed accurately and on time, in accordance with legislation
• Ensure the business is fully compliant with all legislation, including Pension Auto Enrolment, National Minimum Wage and Holiday Pay
• Maintain and develop the payroll system to ensure accuracy, compliance and deliver best practice
• Enhance the department processes to maximise efficiency and minimise risk
• Ensure all statutory returns are submitted, and payments paid to third parties on time
• Input starters & leavers data and produce P45’s, P46’s
• Upload large volumes of variable pay elements, such as bonuses.
• Calculate statutory maternity pay and sick pay
• Deal with employee queries in a timely and professional manner
• Provide costing reports to the finance department
• Develop and present monthly MI to senior management
