Rutherford Cross is delighted to be partnering with a global company whose EMEA office is based in Glasgow to appoint a Management Accounting Manager. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a business that has grown primarily through acquisition over the last 18 months. This newly created role will report to reporting to the Head of Management Accounts and will ensure monthly management accounts are accounted for accurately and within agreed timelines. This individual will be responsible for driving process improvement and developing the team.
Key responsibilities:
- To deliver accurate management accounts, and relevant commentary, within the tight reporting deadlines
- Manage a team of 2-5 qualified and part qualified accountants and drive forward change to ensure that the department and team members improve, supporting graduates and part qualified students in their development
- Liaise closely with regional CFOs and Business Partners on results and reporting
- Review reconciliations to verify the accuracy of management accounts and perform monthly, quarterly and year-to-date variance analysis to budget and prior year on P&L
- Assistance in production and review of the annual budget, reviewing assumptions and building a detailed monthly budgets
- Review of monthly journals
- Review of monthly exec packs
- Liaising with off-shore processing team to control posting of month end journal transactions and balance sheet reconciliations
- Liaising with other departments out with Management Accounts team to provide support for queries as they arise
- Build relationships within the wider Management Accounts team, and across other regional teams
- Build relationships with key operational figures in the business and act as an escalation point for issues
- Ensure SOX requirements are fully met
- Produce ad-hoc reports and completion of technical tasks for the Head of Management Accounts and Senior Finance Manager as requested
- Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulation, good governance and the company's shared values, in particular, putting clients at the heart of our business
