Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with our Glasgow-based client in the transport sector who is looking to add a Management Accountant to their existing team. This role is best suited to a part-qualified accountant looking to complete their professional qualification, with experience in management accounts as well as strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

As a part-qualified Management Accountant, the appointed candidate will support the business by producing and presenting accurate and timely financial information. You will bring an analytical mindset, providing valuable insights and decision support to different business units and non-financial stakeholders.

Monthly Financial Reporting:

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts
• Compile a comprehensive monthly pack for management review
• Analyse the monthly balance sheet

Operational Insights:

• Generate weekly operational reports to provide real-time insights
• Ensure compliance with group policies and processes

Year-End Audit Preparation:

• Assist in preparing for the year-end audit
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Contribute to the production of budgets and forecasts
• Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement

Collaboration and Influence:

• Engage and interact with non-financial stakeholders across various business units
• Provide decision support by presenting valuable insights

Qualifications:

We are seeking a part-qualified or newly qualified Accountant (CIMA preferred) with the following profile:

• Proficient in the production and presentation of management accounts
• Skilled in advanced Excel functions
• Ability to communicate effectively with non-financial stakeholders
• Analytical mindset and attention to detail
