Rutherford Cross is working with a SME business based in Lanarkshire which delivers property management, utilities management, facilities management services to a range of companies.

Their clients include multi-national property funds and individual property owners and developers.

Reporting directly to the COO, the Management Accountant will play a vital role in a busy finance department which supports all divisions of the group, providing them with management accounts, payroll, accounts payable & receivable, cash flow, cash flow management and tax compliance.

Responsibilities include:

• Producing management accounts with a high level of accuracy for multiple sites
• Month end close
• Balance sheet reconciliations, particularly around inventory, labour costing and work-in-progress
• Debt control
• Analysing the month end financial position and making appropriate adjustments if necessary in line with internal procedures
• Posting of monthly payroll/expenses
• Developing and maintaining effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels within the group
• Supporting the preparation of regular and ad hoc financial data and variance analysis on a monthly basis
• Quarterly VAT Returns
• Owning year-end processes

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Qualified accountant (ACCA,CA,CIMA)
• Previous experience in a management accountant role, including with month-end tasks
• Experienced with Xero accounting systems
• Innovative mind, driving process improvement
• Strong problem solving and organisation skills
