Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be exclusively partnered with a family-owned business in Aberdeen to recruit a Management Accountant.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Own and prepare a portfolio of management accounts within the group to support monthly reporting and decision making
  • Collaborate with site teams to define and deliver effective finance business partnering
  • Support annual budgeting, target setting, and rolling forecasts in collaboration with budget holders
  • Track KPIs and ensure system data is accurate, reliable, and fit for decision making
  • Analyse financial performance and KPIs to support strategic delivery and mitigate financial risk
  • Ensure accurate reporting of completed work and work in progress
  • Ensure financial records (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, forecasts) are accurate, complete and compliant
  • Engage with external stakeholders (customers, suppliers, auditors, tax advisors, regulators) as needed
  • Uphold strong financial controls and integrity across operations
  • Prepare journals and review transactions, focusing on revenue recognition, gross margin, treasury and payroll
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns to HMRC

Experience

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA)
  • Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner, Management Accountant, or similar role
  • Skilled in financial modelling and data analysis
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Knowledge & Skills

  • Commercially aware with a strategic mindset and confident in engaging across all business levels
  • Experienced in preparing budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial projections
  • Advanced Excel user with the ability to present complex data clearly and effectively
  • Familiar with finance systems and interfaces; quick to learn new systems. Experience with ERP implementations is a plus
