Rutherford Cross is working in partnership with a successful FMCG business looking to appoint a Lead Financial Controls Analyst. This is a great opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a forward‑thinking organisation. This is a key role supporting the effectiveness, accuracy, and integrity of the organisation’s financial operating model and intercompany environment.
The Lead Finance Analyst will play a pivotal part in ensuring that group-wide financial processes, controls, and reporting standards operate smoothly and consistently. The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to translate complex financial concepts into practical business insights.
You will act as a subject matter expert on internal trading processes, intercompany activities, and financial controls, supporting senior leaders and teams across the business. This includes maintaining month‑end integrity, driving process improvements, supporting systems development, and contributing to major internal projects.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a specialist on the organisation’s internal operating model, offering guidance and solutions across the business
- Deliver training and knowledge sharing to build capability and ensure a strong internal community of subject matter experts
- Maintain and enhance the Finance Calendar, ensuring smooth budgeting, planning, reporting, and operating cycles
- Lead and oversee month‑end financial controls, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of postings and balances
- Advise on accounting system changes, supporting alignment with financial processes and operating model requirements
- Partner with internal audit, risk, and governance teams to support validation and compliance
- Own the reconciliation and analysis of intercompany positions, ensuring robust balance sheet management and effective settlement processes
- Manage and optimise intercompany recharge processes
- Support major transformation initiatives, including process standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement
- Build strong cross‑functional relationships and support the integration of new processes into business‑as‑usual operations
- Promote and uphold an inclusive working culture where diverse perspectives are welcomed
About You
We’re looking for a candidate who brings:
- Strong experience in financial control, group accounting, intercompany processes, or similar roles
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail
- Confidence working with multiple stakeholders across functions and levels
- A proactive approach to improving processes, systems, and ways of working
- The ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and effectively
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to integrity, quality, and inclusion
