Description
Rutherford Cross is pleased to be partnered with a household-name drinks business in Glasgow City Centre to appoint an Internal Auditor. This represents a rare opportunity to join a referential and loved Scottish Brand in a role that offers the chance to gain a deeper understanding of their business and significant exposure to senior stakeholders.
You will report to the Head of Internal Audit for the whole business and be responsible for a range of controls & process improvements across finance, operations, tech, security, projects and more!
There is the opportunity to progress in the Internal Audit function further down the line, but also the potential to transition into another role in finance, making this an ideal opportunity for a first mover from a firm to get into a highly desirable sector.

So, what’s involved?
- Assisting in the delivery of our annual audit plan by leading internal audit reviews & projects, appraising the relevant risks, processes and controls, and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Providing management, including our Audit Committee, with high quality internal audit reports
- Following up on agreed management’s actions, KPI reporting
- Leading ad hoc projects at management request
What you’ll need:
- A recognised accountancy or IIA qualification.
- An understanding of business process controls and experience of leading risk-based internal audit assignments (ideally within relevant industries e.g., FMCG, manufacturing, retail, logistics or distribution)
- Excellent communication skills and report writing skills, with the ability to quickly build good relationships at all levels and help grow a positive audit culture across the Group
- Genuine curiosity and mental agility to be able to quickly get under the skin of the business, ask the right questions and spot potential risks or opportunities
- The ability to travel for work up to 30% of the time – within the UK and Ireland
- Great IT skills, with advanced skills in MS Office and exposure to data analytics desirable
