Description
Interim Senior Finance Manager opportunity with a Glasgow based non-profit organisation for an initial 6-month period.
Reporting to the COO, you will be responsible for:
- Directly managing and supporting the Finance Department
- Supporting the senior team, Chief Executive and Board in the production of the annual organisational budget
- Developing budgets and other financial information for the purposes of fundraising in conjunction with fundraising teams and other Managers, providing finance reports to funders as required
- Developing and maintaining financial policies, procedures and training to ensure that the organisation has robust financial management and audit controls
- Developing, delivering and reviewing regular financial monitoring information for Managers, Chief Executive, Senior Leadership team, the Finance and Audit Committee, the Board, Funders and Auditors
- Ensuring the accurate and timely production of statutory accounts and reporting of funding as per contractual agreements and statutory requirements
- Preparing, managing and monitoring budgets annually and quarterly
- Working with other managers to ensure the terms and conditions of grants are understood and complied with, and providing financial information for monitoring of grants for funders as required
- Managing and developing the accounting systems including purchase, sales and nominal ledgers, overseeing that creditors are paid on time
- Overseeing the management and maintenance of systems for effective and efficient salary administration including PAYE, pensions administration and expenses
- Maintaining effective relationships with key external stakeholders such as external auditors, banks and others
- Managing relevant operational budgets within delegated authority levels
- Co-ordinating the development of the Annual report
- Working with other managers as appropriate, leading and motivating teams to develop, report and deliver on the operational plan
- Leading, managing and motivating managers, staff and volunteers, including holding regular supervision meetings and annual appraisals, and staff development
The Individual:
• Fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, ICAEW) with a proven track record in a similar role
• Experience in preparing charity accounts and knowledge of OSCR requirements is desirable
• Experience co-ordinating a year-end process including external audit support
• Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
• Available at short notice
