Description
Rutherford Cross is delighted to working with one of our key clients to appoint an Income Accountant.
As an Income Accountant, you will play a key role within the UK Accounting team. You will ensure that monthly income-related postings are accounted for accurately and within agreed timelines. You will also assist with the wider finance automation project and help drive process improvement and development of the wider team, where possible.
Responsibilities:
- Taking ownership of the trading P&L and Balance Sheet income accounting processes assigned to you, ensuring the monthly results are recorded within reporting deadlines
- Liaising closely with regional CFOs and Business Partners on results and reporting
- Providing insightful analysis of the P&L and Balance Sheet on a monthly basis for senior management
- Liaising with the off-shore processing team to control the posting of month-end journal transactions and balance sheet reconciliations
- Liaising with Finance Business Partners and other departments out with the Income team to provide support for queries as they arise
- Ensuring SOX requirements are met
- Helping drive forward change initiatives to ensure that income accounting function and team members improve, supporting part qualified students in their development
- Assisting in the finance automation project, including testing and process design / improvements
- Assisting in the rollout of new systems, including testing and process design / improvements
- Providing support in response to external and internal audit requests. Providing complex lead schedules for audit purposes and detailed analysis
The Individual:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA / CIMA / CA or equivalent)
- Experience gained within a SOX and regulatory / control based environment is desirable
- US GAAP experience is highly desirable
- Ability to priority manage and adhere to challenging deadlines
- Flexible attitude to dealing with multiple tasks and environments
- Experience in implementing new processes / controls desirable
- Microsoft Excel
- Attention to detail
