Rutherford Cross is currently exclusively engaged to recruit a Group Internal Audit Manager with Arnold Clark in Glasgow.  Arnold Clark is Europe’s largest privately owned, family-run motor group selling in excess of 250,000 vehicles per year and generating an annual turnover of over £3.66 billion. Established in 1954 and headquartered in Glasgow, the company has 200 branches across the UK. The Arnold Clark Group also comprises a car and van rental and leasing business, three purpose-built training facilities (GTG Training), and a successful insurance business.

The Opportunity

The Group Internal Audit Manager role is based at the Head Office in Glasgow and leads a team of 6 Internal Auditors and 4 Stock Auditors across the UK. Group Accountants reporting into the Head of Group Finance. This is a diverse and varied role with good exposure across the organisation. This would be a great role for a qualified accountant who has good team management experience to join a growing and commercial high paced business head quartered in Glasgow.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Revising and developing the audit testing
  • Planning the audit programme
  • Reviewing and distributing all audit reports and liaising with the relevant business units regarding the findings and outcomes.
  • Conducting audits of the more technical areas of the business
  • Conducting and/or managing any ad-hoc investigations requested by the Directors
  • Aiding with acquisition diligence when required
  • Be a key member of the internal audit team providing effective team management, mentoring, development and support, whilst consistently driving an effective audit approach and high quality deliverables
  • Communication of audit findings and recommendations for improvement at the conclusion of audits with relevant business personnel, both written and verbal

Skills Required:

  • Be an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with at least 2 years PQE
  • Have previous experience in an audit environment and of managing teams
  • Can work independently and demonstrate good organisational skills
  • Have excellent IT skills and be highly proficient with all aspects of Microsoft Office
  • Can deal with individuals at all levels throughout the business
  • Hold a full, clean UK driving license

Remuneration:

In addition of a basic salary of £45,000- £50,000 there is a fully expensed car with a bonus and additional benefits.
