Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working in partnership with a highly successful business based in Stirling to appoint a Group Financial Controller.

You will report directly to the Finance Director and will take ownership of ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance Team. The Group Financial Controller will be responsible for reviewing all consolidated management reporting and ensuring that all internal reporting deadlines are adhered to. In addition, the Group Financial Controller will be responsible for all external compliance filing and reporting, including VAT and CIS.

The Group Financial Controller will be expected to work closely with each of the Divisional Financial Controllers to ensure that all processes and controls are being applied consistently. The role holder will be in a prime position to take over from the Group Finance Director in the coming years.

Duties / Responsibilities Include:

• Line management responsibility for Finance Manager and Assistant Accountant, providing direction and support in their day-to-day role
• Prepare weekly consolidated cashflow forecast
• Review of monthly construction group management accounts and forecast
• Manage the annual external audit process
• Construction Head Office accounting and reporting
• Assist the Finance Director in preparation of monthly finance report
• Assist the Finance Director in the consolidation of the annual budget and prepare ad hoc reports
• Review and submission of quarterly VAT returns
• Monthly review of CIS returns
• Monthly review of payables KPIs and liaising with the Finance Manager to resolve any issues identified
• Assist in improvements / development of Construction Finance systems / processes
• Oversee divisional balance sheet review process and ensure Financial Controllers / Assistant Accountants take appropriate actions to resolve any issues identified
• Review and approve weekly supply chain payments
