Rutherford Cross have been engaged to recruit a newly created position of Group Accountant, for an ambitious organisation based in the Glasgow area. This role would be perfectly suited to someone either looking to make their first move out of practice or into an elevated position.

The business is well-established and offers someone a broad role, with management opportunity, and have them working alongside the senior management team.

The Role:

The role reports to the Financial Controller and will see the successful individual primarily focus on the consolidation and reporting of monthly management accounts, budgeting, statutory reporting and provide support on ad hoc projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Monthly management reporting of annual reports
• Management of finance team
• Budgeting
• Forecasting
• Year-end activities such as statutory reporting and liaising with the auditors
• Assisting with the treasury and cash management activities
• Assist with audits
• Involvement in consolidation

The Candidate:

The position requires a high calibre individual who has strong interpersonal skills, is detail orientated and possesses excellent technical knowledge. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to work in a dynamic environment whereby you are hands-on. A summary of the key candidate requirements are as follows:

• Qualified by experience or a qualified accountant
• Confidence and strong interpersonal skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines and prioritise effectively
• Ability to work well in a team, but also capable of taking ownership for the delivery of specific tasks

Salary:

• £35,000-£45,000
