Description
Due to internal promotion an opportunity has arisen for a focused individual to join our client in the role of Group Accountant. The role will have a number of characteristics including management and statutory reporting responsibilities as well as building effective working relationships with finance colleagues in subsidiary companies across the Group. The position is likely to involve regular travel, and this can be up to a week at a time.
It is a highly visible role working closely with the CFO, undertaking detailed analysis at their request. Given the exposure of the post, it is essential that an individual has a strong work ethic, taking responsibility for their duties and a willingness to support the Group Financial Controller on key objectives.
Key duties include:
- Assist in the completion of the monthly management accounts by preparing various excel based documents that are included within the reporting pack
- Completion of the year end/interim accounts by preparing various excel based documents assist in the preparation of the financial statements
- Preparing detailed budgets/forecasts for three non-trading subsidiaries based on knowledge of the business and discussions with the executive team
- Preparing weekly cash reports for the Executive team
A summary of the key candidate requirements are as follows:
- Degree educated with a track record of high academic achievement
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CA)
- Understanding of IFRS and UK accounting standards, with knowledge of recent and upcoming developments
On offer:
- Salary up to £36,000 (depending on experience)
- Discretionary annual bonus based on personal and company performance
- Employee contribution 2.5% and employer 12.5%
