Description
Rutherford Cross is delighted to be partnering with a highly successful Glasgow headquartered business to appoint a Financial Reporting Manager. This is an excellent career opportunity for a CA looking to join a business with a focus on succession planning.
The purpose of the position is to assist the Head of Financial Reporting & Control in ensuring the integrity of the group’s financial records.
Responsibilities Include:
- Monitor activity in construction contracts throughout the month. Preparation of month end journals including correct profit release on construction activities; accruals & prepayments; recharge of central costs
- Preparation of monthly management reporting for the board of directors including Joint Venture divisional reporting/internal divisional reporting
- Preparation of quarterly external reporting for example Office of National Statistics/HMRC/Banks
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations ensuring that discrepancies are dealt with
- Responsible for the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns for 9+ vat registration and monthly CIS returns
- Assist with the audit process from planning through to completion and preparation of statutory accounts
- Managing a small team of employees of 3+. Including but not limited to making sure their team meets its targets/control over transactions and balance sheet/training junior staff and working on their development/mentoring or coaching team members.
- Help train and support the wider finance community as accounting/HMRC guidance continues to evolve. Provide support to ensure existing controls are being adhered to and also additional controls are implemented
- Other ad hoc work as may be required by the Head of Financial Reporting & Control and from time-to-time
- This list cannot be exhaustive due to the varying needs of the organisation. Therefore, you may be required to carry out other duties depending on the needs of the business and your own skills and abilities
The Individual:
- Qualified accountant (CA/ACCA) +2 years
- Experience working in a financial environment
- Experience managing a small team
- Knowledge of FRS 102 Accounting Standards
- Good experience using MS Office with advanced Excel skills
- The role requires an organised, numerate and accurate individual with good financial awareness, interpersonal and IT skills and be prepared to work additional hours at peak periods if required
On Offer:
- Salary £47,000-£50,000
- Hybrid 3 days a week on site
