Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working in partnership with a highly successful global business in order to appoint a Financial Reporting Analyst. The Financial Reporting Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting the Finance Manager and Heads of Finance across a variety of accounting functions. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or finalist candidate, either with a background in accounting practice transitioning into an exciting first industry accounting role, or for a candidate already working in industry to move to a new sector with excellent development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Analyse financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance, including variance analysis to identify trends, discrepancies and opportunities for improvement
- Analyse fixed cost utilisation to ensure cost reporting processes are fit for purpose
- Prepare and submit monthly management information to Group
- Contribute to ensuring optimum procedures are in place for managing cash and working capital
- Develop an understanding of the Company’s day-to-day accounts payable, receivable and banking functions, to provide support to Finance Assistants
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial data in the Company's systems
- Assist in the coordination of external audits and ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements
- Prepare necessary documentation and schedules for audit purposes
- Support senior staff in the budgeting and forecasting processes
- Collaborate with other business departments to gather relevant financial information
- Exposure to Corporation Tax and VAT compliance gained through preparation of underlying workings
- Develop accounting systems experience through involvement in the Company’s impending SAP implementation
- Participate in special projects as assigned by the Finance Manager or Heads of Finance
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance processes and improve overall efficiency
The Individual :
- Newly qualified or finalist candidate (CA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Previous experience in accounting practice, particularly in audit, accounting, or tax would be advantageous but not essential
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and adaptable to new IT and financial systems
