Location: Glasgow City Centre
Working pattern: Hybrid, 2 days on‑site, 3 from home
Contract: 12‑month FTC
Salary: Competitive DOE + bonus

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be supporting a well‑established, values‑led Scottish business with a strong international footprint in the appointment of a Financial Reporting Accountant on a 12‑month fixed term contract.

Finance plays a central role in supporting governance, reporting and decision-making across this complex international business. This role sits within a highly capable finance function and provides exposure to both UK and wider group reporting requirements.

This represents an excellent move for a newly qualified accountant looking to gain experience across a broad range of financial responsibilities. You will be able to add value immediately, while continuing to develop your technical accounting and reporting skillset in a supportive, well-structured team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing accurate monthly management accounts and supporting schedules
  • Providing detailed analysis of central and overhead costs to support senior stakeholders
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting activity and monitoring performance against plan
  • Acting as a key contact for group and parent company reporting requirements
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly reporting packs for internal and group use
  • Coordinating and responding to requests from senior finance stakeholders
  • Maintaining balance sheet integrity through robust reconciliations
  • Supporting statutory accounts preparation and audit processes
  • Acting as a primary finance contact for external auditors and advisors
  • Assisting with corporation tax, VAT and HMRC submissions
  • Providing technical accounting support and responding to accounting standard queries
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the finance team where required

The Individual:

  • CA qualified or equivalent
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting standards
  • Comfortable working with complex financial data and multiple stakeholders
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicator, able to explain financial information clearly to non‑finance colleagues
  • Strong Excel capability is essential
