Rutherford Cross is delighted to be supporting a growing SME with their search for a Financial Controller. The company is doing very well and has significant expansion planned. The role will be responsible for all aspects of financial management for a scale-up, including financial reporting and analysis for the Board. The role requires a strong technical background as well as excellent analytical skills and great stakeholder management ability.
A summary of some of the key duties are below:
- General Ledger management – ensuring that all the banks are reconciled properly and that GL journals are processed and controlled to ensure that the data presented to the group is correct
- Cash management – debt collection
- Local compliance – ensuring all Payroll Taxation obligations, VAT etc
- Attending and contributing to operational board meetings
- Managing the year-end (audit if required) and tax compliance in partnership with third party providers
- System and process review and improvement
- Process management and enhancement
- Maintaining and upholding quality and regulatory standards
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Ensuring consistent approach to service delivery
- Identifying areas of the operation that can be streamlined and improved
- Using initiative to identify areas of risk and implementing measures to correct
- Providing necessary support to Group CFO
- Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets for EMEA
This role will suit a Qualified Finance Manager / Financial Controller who has preferably worked for a multi-national company. High attention to detail and great systems skills will be key. The role will offer broad exposure at senior management level as well as great future career prospects as the business scales.
