Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing international manufacturing business to recruit a Financial Accountant into its UK shared services function.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly or nearly qualified accountant to join a high-performing finance team within a forward-thinking organisation that places a strong emphasis on continuous improvement, process optimisation and high-quality financial control.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in delivering robust financial reporting, strengthening governance and driving efficiencies across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the statutory accounts process across multiple UK entities
  • Act as the primary contact for external auditors and manage the audit process end-to-end
  • Support corporation tax preparation and compliance
  • Prepare and manage detailed cash flow forecasts
  • Monitor cash positions and deliver insight to support decision-making
  • Drive improvements in working capital and cash visibility
  • Own balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Manage intercompany accounts and settlements across the group
  • Oversee inventory accounting, including provisions and reporting
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Drive improvements in financial controls, governance and documentation
  • Enhance the use of finance systems and reporting tools
  • Contribute to finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives

About you:

  • Newly or nearly qualified accountant (CA, ACCA or CIMA), or equivalent experience
  • Strong technical financial accounting background
  • Good understanding of UK GAAP and relevant reporting standards
  • Experience working within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Excel skills with exposure to ERP systems
  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
